My New Favorite Thing
Ok, so Oprah isn't the only person that can have favorite things... Today I had lunch and dinner from the most ingenious little healthy kitchens in town. Although the description healthy kitchen may sound like the food tastes like wood, it is actually really, really good. One of my clients, a personal trainer, told me about My Fit Foods after I shared with him my struggles with eating consistent, healthy meals.
As a hairstylist, fitting lunch into my day is sometimes a challenge because I just don't have the time to run out to get anything. I know I could prepare lunch and bring it, but that would mean I would have to cook it, not to mention go grocery shopping...none of which I have time to do. But I digress.
The My Fit Foods concept is such the perfect answer to my dilemma because:
1. The meals are proportioned in small, medium and large sizes to ensure that I won't over eat. (I laughed at the small container when I first saw it, but it is actually enough food...it's all mental.)
2. The food tastes great and they have a variety of meals to choose from so I won't get bored. The food is cooked fresh daily and refrigerated, not frozen. It's gluten free, low in fat, low in cholesterol, low in sugar and takes less than 2 minutes to heat up. PERFECT!! I feel like I have my own personal chef for less than $550 per month! Eating out, you could easily spend that amount in a couple of weeks and the proportions are enormous.
3. It's not expensive. For 9 meals, small and medium, I paid only $60!!! Yeah baby!! That's $20 per day, dude. No cooking, no grocery store lines, no dishes, no overeating, no missing meals...gotta love it. Forget sexy, I'm gonna be too healthy for my shirt!! Ok, corny but true!
