Launching into new national retailers is a big goal for UFD and we’re achieving it thanks to your support!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

2018 has taught me that. As you all may know, I took over Uncle Funky’s Daughter<\/a> back in 2014 after relocating to Houston and figuring out I have what it takes to run a successful, thoughtful company. One of my main goals was to launch these awesome products (which I had already been a fan of for years) on a national level because they deserved to be seen. In 2016, UFD launched in Target<\/a>, and we remain on those shelves today in over 300 stores. In 2018, we launched in three more national retailers, including Walmart, CVS and Riteaid. I am slowly but surely watching my dreams for this company come to life!<\/p>\n

Quite a few of you requested products you felt were missing from our line, and we listened! We debuted Heal & Renew Intensive Hair Masque<\/a> and Bye-Bye Buildup Cleansing Conditioner<\/a> (aka co-wash) at the World Natural Hair Show in April and they have been very well received! We’ve gotten so many calls, emails and direct messages from you all, and want you to know that you’re who we do it for! We’ve even heard that these are some of the best products UFD has ever released, and we only plan to get better.\u00a0Several of the social media mavens you guys love have also reviewed this duo, including this video by PrettyGirlsWithCurls<\/a>! If you haven’t tried them yet, check them out on our site<\/a>! In other news, we’ll also be launching these in CVS and Walmart next year, so stay tuned for more details in the coming months!<\/p>\n

Because of the strong love and support of our brand, we’ll also be launching into Kroger in 2019. We’re excited to be expanding into the grocery industry, because it makes it even more convenient for you to get your Good Funky Stuff! We’re impressed with the progress of the company and the strides they’re making to include us curly girls. Be sure and look out for our fabulous products on their shelves!<\/p>\n

Lastly, our Foxy Mamas really showed out with all the inventive ways they used our products to create beautiful looks and set trends in the natural hair world. From wavy to kinky, we have stylers, cleansers and moisturizers for EVERYONE! Aboyowa (aka West African Baby<\/a> on social media) created this fun, beaded, Nigeria-inspired look using our products to showcase her style and share a little of her heritage. We’d love for you to do so as well in 2019!<\/p>\n

I always like to take a moment to reflect on all the good moments in the year, as it becomes easy to focus on the stressors and changes and be blinded by them. So, here’s to 2018 & all the growth, love and curls.<\/p>\n
