It&#8217;s time to get in formation for winter weather, and get our curls pruned and prepared for the season that lies ahead! As you know, your hair requires optimal care during this time of year, as the air is drier and we&#8217;re turning up the heat, so here are three tips to start implementing into your routine to cater to your curls!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Protect your hair from friction whenever you can! It&#8217;s not unpopular to hear about satin pillowcases but it&#8217;s really time to put those into play along with a few other things! In addition, try these things: keeping your hair off your collar if possible, purchase satin lined winter hats, and even lined sleepwear coverings like bonnets or scarves. The less friction your hair experiences, the less likely it is to display increased shedding or split ends, and more likely it is to retain moisture. Make sure you&#8217;re getting a trim (Set your appointment, today Funky Junky!), performing deep conditioning and\/or hot oil treatments, and being extra careful during your detangling process. It&#8217;s also helpful if you keep tools in your bag when you&#8217;re on the go to detangle during the day, especially when wearing hats and scarves. Another helpful tip is to co-wash a bit more often and reduce the amount of times you shampoo, just to add a bit more moisture! As previously mentioned, you should implement the least amount of friction to your hair in your routine, so low manipulation is also a plus when styling.
