Spring is upon us and it\u2019s the perfect time to start cleaning and organizing your home! I want to share some of my favorite spring cleaning tips and include a great way to practice self care while cleaning your home.<\/div>\n

1. Use Chemical-Free Cleaners<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every Spring I like to deep clean<\/a> every room in my house. Now that I have a daughter, I like to use cleaning products that are natural and safe to use around her. For a chemical-free clean, mix white vinegar, water and a few drops of an essential oil in a spray bottle. Shake and spritz on counter tops, windows, bathroom surfaces, sinks, pretty much anything you can think of. You can also use white vinegar to help keep drains clog-free. Just pour a cup of white distilled vinegar down your drains once every two weeks. Allow the mixture to sit for a half-hour, then run cold water to flush it out.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Cleaning the refrigerator thoroughly is one of the most important things you can do to prevent food borne illnesses from happening. To clean your refrigerator, remove everything and throw out anything that is expired. Use soapy water to wash removable items, like bins and shelves and wipe down the interior with a soapy cloth. For stubborn stains, mix baking soda and water to form a paste and scrub gently until clean. This mixture is also great for cleaning bathroom surfaces, bathtubs, sinks and toilets.<\/div>\n
Something that often gets overlooked is cleaning decorative pillows. These can be breeding grounds for dust mites. To kill dust mites you can toss the pillows in a hot dryer or place them outside in the hot sun or in the freezer for a day.<\/div>\n

2. Get The Children Involved<\/strong><\/div>\n
To keep my daughter\u2019s room organized I like using storage bins to sto<\/div>\n
re her toys and books. Ella is almost two and she can make a huge mess in her room in less than 60 seconds! When it\u2019s time to clean up, storage bins make organizing quick and easy. Plus, it\u2019s a simple way to show her how to put things back where they belong so she can learn to clean up on her own.<\/div>\n

3. Practice Self-Care<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of my favorite things to do while Spring cleaning is to deep condition my hair. As a busy mom, I don\u2019t have a lot of time for self care so deep conditioning while getting my household chores done is a win\/win for me!
