The summer heat is finally transitioning to a fresh, autumn breeze – Fall is here! Fall is my favorite season because college football is back, my family and I are beginning to discuss Halloween costumes, and soon we can expect Thanksgiving and Christmas! This is also a great time to reflect and inspire change! Here are 3 ways to switch up your routine in the Fall.

1. Crush Your Goals By Maximizing Your Time
When you have a busy life with many responsibilities, it’s easy to neglect your personal goals to tend to the needs of others. Last year I struggled with setting aside time for self-care. This year I have been much better about maximizing my time. Especially regarding my workout routine!
For example, I usually take my daughter to soccer practice during the week. It is more important to my daughter that I show up for the games! So instead of sitting and watching her soccer practice, I may go for a jog in a nearby neighborhood. Or if I have 45 minutes before dinnertime, I will hop on my Peloton bike and crank out a workout! I do whatever I can to show up for the goals that I set out for myself.
Take a moment to reflect on your current daily routine…how can you switch it up to maximize your time and crush your goals? You’d be surprised how much you can accomplish in a day when you are strategic and productive!
2. Switch Up Your Routine By Pushing Through The Rut
In the Fall, I tend to think about where I fall short in reaching my goals! I have 4 kids, a husband, a dog, and a company to run…so I try to use every minute of my time but sometimes I fall short. For example, my alarm sounds at 5:45 am every morning to work out before starting my day. The problem is – I don’t always get up. Instead, I may press snooze. When my husband’s alarm sounds at 6:00 am…I know that I missed my window to work out. At this point, I am in a rut because I missed my workout!
If this pattern repeats itself too much, that means I’ve fallen off the wagon! When you fall off it’s hard to get ramped back up. To get out of that rut, first, give yourself grace – it happens! We all fall off at one point or another. Now, let’s get back on!! Reflect and switch up your routine, so that next time you are better prepared!

3. Switch Up Your Hairstyling Routine
As many of you know, we launched our heat protectant line this summer in preparation for the cooler seasons! The cooler weather inspires change, and with the thermal protection line…I now have the armor to heat style my hair without damage!
Aside from heat styling, I switch up my routine by deep conditioning more often. In the Fall, the climate tends to be pretty dry – your hair will crave more moisture. Make sure you are very generous when applying moisturizer to your hair, and establish a more frequent deep conditioning routine!
I do the same things for the kids…such as applying more moisturizer to their hair and deep conditioning more frequently. I also tend to put the girls in protective styles such as braids. Especially since sports are picking back up! It is much easier for their hair to withstand the climate and the constant activity in a protective style.
We are also trying to instill in my son the importance of moisturizing his hair. He is at a stage where he wants to wear his hair out but does not always stick to a moisture routine. Lately, we have been trying to remind him that girls do not like dry hair!
I hope these tips inspire you to reflect and switch up your routine as needed in the Fall! I am looking forward to talking again in October!
