We may not realize that certain habits are detrimental to the health of our hair and skin. Prioritizing the health of your hair and skin comes with a bit of sacrifice, but it’s worth it in the end. Here are everyday habits to break for healthy hair and skin!

Change your diet for healthy hair and skin!
I never truly realized the importance of what you eat and how it hugely impacts your body until I started my fitness journey. I started noticing a big difference in not only my weight but my hair and skin when I changed my diet. My skin is much less prone to breakouts, is lively, and has an overall healthy appearance! I’ve also noticed that I have very minimal shedding when it comes to my hair!
I know how tempting snacking can be, but I always limit myself to just weekends to sustain the health of my body! Once you start seeing results, you know that it’s becoming habitual – so keep at it!
Put away the rough tools!
I also stay away from applying heat to my hair. Typically I let my hair air dry instead of diffusing. Once I began catering to my hair as if it were a plant by adding more moisture and avoiding detrimental styling habits, my hair flourished!
Other habits, such as the type of towel you use to dry your hair, have an impact on its health. Swipe out the bath towels for a microfiber one!

Change your pillowcase!
Every night I sleep on a satin pillowcase – rough cotton pillows can be very drying to your hair! Satin is much more gentle and will prevent breakage while you sleep. I also make sure to wash my pillowcase weekly to prevent skin breakouts!
