During the holidays, it’s easy to forget about yourself. As a mom and wife, I usually have such a busy schedule. Self-care is something I haven’t perfected yet, but here are 3 self-care tips that have been a tremendous help throughout my daily life.

Self-Care Tip #1: Get enough sleep.
I’m sure many of you can relate to a crazy sleep cycle. I tend to have a lot on my mind (especially during the holidays), which keeps me up at night. I find that I sleep better when I have a relaxing bedtime routine.
For example, our phones play a big part in why we don’t get enough sleep! I recommend putting your phone on “do not disturb” an hour before you sleep. Also, putting my phone on the dresser helps ease the temptation to look at it before bed!
Self-Care Tip #2: Maintain a healthy diet.
My next self-care tip is to maintain a healthy diet! I’m a person who loves food, and I admit to being an emotional eater. Eating unhealthy food makes you gain unnecessary weight and drains your energy throughout the day. As soon as you start eating healthier, you will notice a positive difference in your outer appearance and mental state!

Self-Care Tip #3: Do something you enjoy.
Self-care is also about taking the time to do something that you enjoy! Whether that’s spending time alone, going for a walk, picking up a new hobby, or reading a book. Doing what you enjoy will ease stress and lift your mood tremendously, turning a hectic day into a peaceful night!
Bonus: Do not chase perfection!
I tend to be a perfectionist, which only sets me up for more stress and disappointment. Chasing perfection will make you crazy! It’s okay to mess up sometimes or not meet your daily goals. Be forgiving and know that completing even one task is a step towards greatness. Relax and realize that all will be good.
I hope that these self-care tips help you de-stress during this hectic season, and I wish you all Happy Holidays!
xoxo
