Let’s up our hair game! I’m sharing some of my favorite tips and tools to achieve beachy, boho waves. Using the right products and hot tools is essential to achieve the look you are going for and not damage those beautiful locks. Who said you couldn’t have your cake and eat it too?

Step 1: Prep Your Hair For Boho Waves!
For me both professionally and personally, a game-changer is prepping your hair before you apply any heat at all. I’m loving the Maximum Thermal Protection line from Uncle Funky’s Daughter. On wash day, I shampoo and condition from root to end with the Purifying Cleanser and Deep Conditioner. That way my curls do not have any build-up and they are properly moisturized. Two of the most important steps to get boho waves that last for days is prepping your hair for a blowout with the Primer and Split End Serum. Make sure to section your hair, to ensure that the product is evenly distributed.
Step 2: Use The Right Tools To Prep!
I use the medium setting on my blow dryer and I use my big barrel-round brush to blow it out. If you are looking for an amazing blow dryer I highly recommend Parlux Alyon.
Then I go in with my favorite hot tool. I just love this one so much – it’s a long barrel curling wand from Hot Tools. Always remember to be extra cautious when applying heat to your hair and pay extra attention to your ends. When using the wand I always leave my ends out to minimize the amount of exposure to heat.
Step 3: Create Your Waves & Apply The Finishing Touches!
To achieve those beautiful boho waves, I section my hair into small sections as I work my way around my head. All the heat protection work was done in the prep! Once I’m done with the curling wand, I spray my hair lightly with a hair spray, apply the 3 in 1 Shine Booster and gently run my hands through my hair to create some separation in my waves. I usually get at least 5 days with my waves because of the essential prep work.
How you sleep on your hair after styling, plays a very important role in how long your waves will last. I always recommend a silk pillowcase, as well as a loose side braid. Or you can gently place your hair on the top of your head and wear a wrap…my favorite hair wraps are from Pink Pewter. Upon doing these few extra steps I wake up to the perfect boho waves!

I know it can seem time-consuming but the beauty is – once the work is done you will have beautiful, long, boho waves all week long!
Let those locks shine this spring!
