Undoubtedly, 2023 brought its fair share of challenges, with the economic impact of inflation directly affecting our business. The escalation of material costs added another layer of complexity. To add to our trials, an entire truckload of our beloved Curly Magic was stolen during the holiday season – an unfortunate occurrence not uncommon during this time. Despite this setback, we powered through and concluded the year on a positive note, offering a special sale and holiday giveaway as a token of gratitude for your unwavering support.
Giving Back For The Holidays
Also, we were privileged to organize an exclusive screening of The Color Purple for the Houston community. The occasion was adorned with complimentary popcorn and beverages for each attendee, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the cinematic experience.
The true pinnacle of the holidays, however, was our heartwarming opportunity to contribute to those less fortunate during the festive season. In the spirit of giving, we gifted two deserving families with a $500 gift card to their neighborhood grocery store, along with up to $500 worth of Christmas presents. It was the perfect opportunity to spread joy and create lasting memories for families in need.
Expansion In Retail Stores
On another note, we are thrilled to announce the successful launch of our top-selling moisturizing products – Curly Magic, Supercurl, and Heal & Renew – in Sally Beauty stores. This strategic move expands our reach, allowing you to conveniently find our products in more locations. As a special treat for our Sally Beauty customers, we’ve introduced the Moisture Boost Kit, a collection featuring travel-sized versions of Curly Magic, Supercurl, Heal & Renew, and Thirsty Curls. Looking ahead to 2024, we are gearing up to broaden our product presence in multiple retail stores. Defunk and the Primer will soon grace the shelves of Target stores, a significant milestone made possible by the steadfast support of our retail partners and, most importantly, you – our Funky Family!

Peering into the future, we’re excited to share some upcoming developments for 2024. After years of meticulous development, we are on track to launch our much-anticipated mousse in the first quarter. We’ve listened attentively to your requests for new products, including solutions for scalp care, and we can’t wait to bring these innovations into your hands. Furthermore, our commitment to community engagement leaps forward with the introduction of our new non-profit in the upcoming year.
