The most important facet of the human experience is our capacity to give. In fact, the very fabric of our society is held together by the seams of charity and humility; when those traits are in play, especially (but certainly not limited to) times of dire need, our world is a much kinder and more comfortable place in which to reside.
Humanitarian causes and leaving a positive imprint on the world are one of the values we hold dearest to our hearts here at Uncle Funky’s Daughter. So when our hometown of Houston, Texas was stricken with damaging and devastating flooding that claimed the lives of some citizens, and displaced thousands of others, we didn’t hesitate to figure out what actions we could take to render aid to our fellow Houstonians.
Through partnership with Lamik Beauty, a makeup/beauty boutique also based here in Houston, the Uncle Funky’s Daughter team was able to proudly and enthusiastically donate several cases of our products, including our Rich & Funky Moisturizing Cleanser and Defunk Hair Refresher Tonic, to the American Red Cross for those who were and continue to be affected by the flooding in April. At a time when even the smallest amenities are at a premium for some, we’d like to think that if our donation was able to provide even the tiniest bit of comfort to someone without, then it was more than worthwhile.
We love our community, not only on a local level, but on a global one, which is why we put such an emphasis on the natural and eco-friendly constitution of our products, as well as why we strive so hard to do our part in protecting the Earth and keep her looking as beautiful as possible. We encourage everyone to do the same! Remember, there is no act of kindness or charity too small to be of consequence. Whatever you can do to extend a helping hand to your community, be it on an individual level or through a larger organization, is valued and appreciated by somebody on the receiving end. As our Funky Junkies certainly know, a little goes a long way.
Forever Funky,
The Uncle Funky’s Daughter Team.
