The Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the U.S. represents Giving Tuesday, a day of giving to your local or national nonprofits of choice. As we reflect back on Giving Tuesday, we think about the commitment that Uncle Funky’s Daughter has to our global community.
Over the last few years, the natural hair movement has grown exponentially. The relationship that women, especially women of color, have with their hair is very personal and makes up a big part of their identity. As a black & woman-owned business, we understand that Uncle Funky’s Daughter holds an important role in the natural hair community and that we have a strong impact and presence in the lives of women of color. For that reason, our mission is to represent our community in an uplifting way and help educate, encourage and empower everyone to celebrate and embrace their naturally curly hair in all its glory!
We are committed to providing support, guidance, and education by creating an online community that promotes self-love and women empowerment. But, our commitment to the community extends beyond the naturally curly community. Our mission is also to protect mother earth with a sustainable supply chain and to support women and children to live healthier, financially secure lives. Here are a few ways in which we do just that…
We formulate our products using clean natural ingredients. We provide a system of high-quality, ethically sourced, all-natural, chemical-free hair products that deliver what they promise.
We use recycled and eco-friendly packaging. Our promise is to provide high-performing products while protecting the earth’s valuable resources. All of our product bottles, jars, and caps are 100% recyclable.
We uplift our community through philanthropy work and outreach. A percentage of each product sale goes to support women and children. We work with various non-profit organizations and philanthropic partners whose mission is to support and empower minority communities and families in need. We uplift our community through continuous charitable initiatives, sponsorships, and donations. You can see a few of the organizations we support below.
We support breast cancer survivors. Every year during the month of October, we raise awareness about breast cancer and share the stories of strong and inspiring breast cancer survivors. In addition to our educational campaigns, we donate products all month long to an organization that supports breast cancer patients through their journey.
