What made you want to change your health?

When I think about psychical health, two components come to mind diet and nutrition. In August 2019, I decided to make a change for the better and looked for tips for a healthier lifestyle. My decision was based on stepping on the scale every other day and seeing my weight increase from 221 to 289 over five months.

What was the last straw?

I found myself buying larger clothes more than often, and slowly the weight gain  played a negative toll on my mental health. Being tired of feeling this way and I knew I had to make a change IMMEDIATELY!

Hard work and dedication pays off

Tell us the steps you took to maintain a better lifestyle?

Cleaning up my diet was first, so I started incorporating more fruits and vegetables, and less fast foods and sugary drinks. Those are my weakness when going to the grocery store. Therefore, I was determined to make a plan to get in the gym, and get back in shape. I was in it for the long run and nothing was going to get in my way. The gym became my routine, I was going three to four times a week and my diet consisted of low calories, water, and vegetable dishes. Sometimes I would have a “cheat meal” during the week however, by being unwavering for two months I lost 50 pounds!

What would you tell someone who wants to change their diet?

The key is being very consistent and focused on the end goal. I want to return to my pre-pregnancy weight which is around 140 pounds. I know continuing to have a healthy diet and going to the gym three to four times a week will allow me to get there.

Describe the way you feel now?

So far, I have lost 74 pounds,  I have never felt delighted with how I feel and look for a while now. I continued to look forward to maintaining this healthy lifestyle and even healthier hair. This was a glimpse at the steps I took to get on the road to a better life. I hope you enjoyed my journey of losing weight and how it changed my life. Each day is work but once your mind is made up it will be worth the wait. Let me know in the comments below if you want to get healthier this year.

XOXO,

Jeanette
