Each year around Valentine’s Day we’re gearing up for some sort of date night. Some nights may be planned and others may be last minute. Coming up with show-stopping outfits and hairstyles that would leave your boo mesmerized can be a bit tedious, but don’t worry! This year my spouse and I will be sharing a couple of fun and affordable ideas. This means slaying on a budget while having an amazing time with your boo or even your friends for Galentine’s.

Your most flattering hairstyles sometimes depends on your hair thickness, length, and texture. For me, I like to keep my 4c hair in a nice twisted updo, which makes me look like a goddess. I prefer updo’s, just in case I’m going to end up doing something active for the night. Dancing is at the top of my list. With my hair up, I don’t have to worry about sweating my hair out or it getting out of place. I also love to add some cute hair jewelry, usually gold cuffs or beads. You can get hair accessories for a dollar at your local beauty supply store.
I use my favorite Uncle Funky’s Daughter products to do these styles. First of all, the products smell AMAZING and they deeply moisturize my hair, making it soft enough for me to work with while I twist and tuck. My go-to products are “Bye-Bye Buildup” and “Heal & Renew Intensive Hair Masque“. Both products help cleanse and condition my hair. “Bye-Bye Buildup” cleanses with Rhassoul clay, this way it doesn’t strip your hair or make it dry.

These products still maintain the moisture in your hair allowing the oil to move through each hair strand. After that, I apply “Good Hair” which is a conditioning styling cream. This gives your hair a nice shine for days. Twist your hair with this yummy goodness and it will be hydrated and juicy! For an extra “oomph” I add “Super Curl” or “Extra Butter” -my favorite go-to moisturizers on top to seal in all that moisture.
Find Affordable Clothes For your Perfect Night.
You can stay trendy and still find ways to incorporate your taste into your outfit. If you’re currently looking for an outfit, choose something comfortable. Rumor has it, wearing red or pink represents love. Nevertheless, I think those colors are optional. My personal decision is to wearing red as much as you can because it’s a head-turner. Red has always been my favorite color. On the regular, I tend to go for burgundy or blue-based shades of red. These shades of red tend to compliment my skin tone. My second favorite option is yellow, which looks enchanting on melanated skin tones. You can find nice and affordable outfits at boutiques which are easy to access online.
