It’s summer time! We’re modifying our hair routines to handle the heat and humidity (or dryness depending on where you live), looking for cute styles we can wear to the beach, picnics, vacations, & weekend brunches with friends… Summer hair care is all about protecting and moisturizing your hair so it can handle all your activities and still look fabulous.
For my naturals that love to wear their hair big and bold, you want to focus on moisture. The weather can really take a toll on our hair, especially kinkier hair types. The heat from the sun, free radicals, chemicals and dissolved salts in water contribute to dryness which can lead to severe split ends, knots or even hair thinning. For my girls that love protective styles: braids, twists, faux locs, crochet, wigs, you want to focus on moisture as well and also maintaining your style. Since Extra Butter is a thick cream, it will lock in all the moisture in your hair while it’s braided or twisted up, to reduce the rate of dryness. The products also help to prep your hair and make it soft for the installation.
